The Norwegian market

We help our producers understand and find their way into the Norwegian market, and support their wines through Vinmonopolet and HoReCa.

Two routes to market

Vinmonopolet

Consumer sales take place through Vinmonopolet. Depending on the product, stock, volume and commercial plan, a wine may be assessed for a tendered range or registered in a wholesaler-initiated to-order or additional range.

How Vinmonopolet works

HoReCa

Licensed on-trade businesses may purchase directly from Haut de Gamme. This route is developed through factual product information, samples and direct dialogue with legitimate buyers – not through consumer advertising.

For hotels and restaurants

Our role in Norway

As a Norwegian importer and wholesaler, we connect the producer’s work with the Norwegian market. We assess routes to market, coordinate product information and follow up on sales, forecasts and deliveries.

An external partner handles practical import procedures, customs clearance, storage and distribution on our behalf. We manage the dialogue with the producer and the market.

From information to action

Data-driven market insight

Vinmonopolet’s central, nationwide role gives the Norwegian wine market a distinctive structure. Published sales figures, historical series and statistics at category and store level provide an extensive basis for understanding developments in this part of the market.

Our approach is data-driven. We have built our own models to analyse large volumes of data from Vinmonopolet alongside a range of other market signals. We continually update our analyses as new data becomes available, considering sales, availability, seasonal patterns and market developments alongside our knowledge of Provence. This provides a concrete basis for portfolio work, delivery planning and close dialogue with our producers.

We also use AI to support research, bring information together and explore patterns and possible scenarios. Alongside our own analytical tools, it helps us examine more aspects of the market. We assess the results against the sources and our own market knowledge.

Understand the connections

Sales, store coverage and inventory illuminate different aspects of the market. We consider them together while keeping clear distinctions between what each measure tells us.

Historical data and seasonal patterns support forecasts, delivery planning and follow-up with the producer.
