Producer & origin

Château Rasque

Château Rasque lies above Taradeau in the Var, on a natural clay-and-limestone rise at about 260 metres, among oaks, pines, broom, cistus and brambles. The estate’s own history traces human presence at Rasque back approximately 6,000 years.

Cuvée Alexandra comes from east- and south-east-facing vines at 230 metres, rooted in very stony clay-limestone soil.

Method

The grapes are picked by hand and brought to a pneumatic press. After four to six hours of skin contact, the first saignée juice is drawn off for Cuvée Alexandra. Grenache and Cinsault are vinified separately and blended after fermentation.

A way of working grounded in tradition and quality, with respect for the soil, the vines and the wine.
